End of Summer Vacation

As the end of summer vacation comes near,
Your mind starts filling up with a  bunch of fears.
You worry about going back to school,
And hanging out with the kids who think they are cool.
How many assignments will you get,
Will you still have time to play with your pet?
You won't have much time to play,
Until vacation nears in May.
This is a change that makes you sad,
But that doesn't necessarily mean that it is bad.
The start of the school year brings some cool things,
Not all of which have anything to do with testing.
You get the joy of decorating your locker,
And trying out to play soccer.
You might get the opportunity of going on a field trip,
And get your parents' signatures on a permission slip.
You will get to meet up with your friends,
And you will realize that your fun hasn't come to an end.
