Weekend is Over

The weekend is over, what a shame,
It was,
So much,
Fun,
The pressure of school turns off,
For two days,
Freedom,
Life is simple,
And happy,
No school,
Freedom,
But that, too, comes to an end,
I will have to,
Wait,
Five more days,
And then the weekend,
Starts once again.

Going to the Zoo

Below is a picture that I took while at the zoo!

When you visit the NC Zoo,
There are many things to do,
There are so many animals to see,
There are so many places to be,
You can watch lions lying in the sun,
Or a chimpanzee family having fun,
You can see a polar bear with its fur so bright,
And a gorilla mommy cuddling with its baby in the sunlight,
Elephants enjoying the sun shining down,
Giraffes stand tall; freckled in brown,
Walking around and seeing all this,
Is an activity that you won't want to miss,
Watching the animals go on with their life is a blast,
And if you love animals your day will go by really fast,
I highly recommend the NC Zoo,
Going there is a fun thing to do!

Semester Finals

Grueling exams that take two hours each,
Tons of questions to answer on every sheet,
After staying up to study late at night,
You try to answer every question right,
There is not a smiling face that you can see,
As everyone is stressed out terribly,
The room is quiet and pencils are all that you can hear,
The air is suffocating with the smell of fear,
But it will all be worth it when you get back your test,
You will see the A+ and know that you are the best!

World Dictionary Day

A dictionary is useful in many different ways,
It is a tool that is important in everyday life,
It helps you when you have to write essays,
When in science class you need the definition of a half-life,
Pronunciations are there on every page,
You can get one in English, German, and French, too,
You can just glance inside it to find the different meanings of sage,
It will tell you that hello in French is Bonjour.

Now dictionaries not only exist as books,
For we are in the 21st century,
They are also available on Nooks,
As every person needs to be able to access a dictionary.

So today we celebrate World Dictionary Day,
A day dedicated to this helpful tool,
Just look up whatever word you want to say,
Because looking through a dictionary is totally cool!

Having A Concussion

Sorry that I have not been able to write in a long time, but I have a concussion and am only allowed limited time on the computer so that my brain can heal properly. I hope that you enjoy this poem!



Having a concussion is no fun,
I cannot be exposed to light or the sun.
No internet or tv until I get healthy,
But getting better is taking way too long for me.
Not being able to go to school,
Laying in bed all day feels so cruel.
I am bored and need something to do,
Doing nothing makes me feel blue.
I cannot wait until I feel better and can play,
When this happens I will shout hooray!

Social Studies

This poem is dedicated to my awesome social studies teacher, Mr. M!!!!

Social studies is a core subject in school,
Social studies is really cool,
Especially when you have a great teacher,
It makes social studies class even better,
You learn about history and current events,
Some of the historical topics are really intense,
Such as death and war,
These topics make your heart sore,
In social studies you can debate,
You can use facts against your classmates,
You can also write essays on what you think,
The Renaissance and founding of the U.S. you can link,
You have many tests and quizzes,
But you will do fine if you pay attention to your teacher's lectures,
Social studies is so much fun,
And if you have a wonderful teacher it is even better for everyone!!!!

Nutella

Creamy hazelnut and chocolate all in one,

Eating Nutella is so much fun.

Its delicious taste makes me feel like I am in heaven,

When it melts in my mouth everything else is forgotten.

Its vibrant flavor is so very gratifying,

Just one little taste is so satisfying.

I am in love; that is the truth,

Because Nutella always satisfies my sweet tooth!

I am always logged on and wanting to read something new,
But no one ever posts anything, and that makes me feel blue.
You are a tool to help people stay connected,
And by you many people are affected.
But if no one goes on and posts something,
How am I supposed to stay informed about everything?

The joy of reading someone's new post is indescribable,
Typing in your address and logging in is desirable.
But therefore I must limit the times I go on,
So that there will be something new, so that out of boredom I will not yawn.

That is exactly what I will do,
Instead of going on five times a day, I will go on only two.
The only problem is that I have already broken this for today,
So let's see how long from you I can stay.

I used to log on only once daily,
But now there is a magnetic force attracting you to me.
I cannot stay away,
No, instead I must stare intently at the computed screen all day.
